SOJC IT Services

The School of Journalism and Communication Technology Services Department works with SOJC-affiliated students, faculty, and staff to support computer, classroom AV, videoconferencing and equipment checkout needs. To request help, please browse our services list below to submit a ticket or call (541) 346-3715. Please note: Due to staff moving to remote operations, live phone support is limited. How to Request Help:

For common support requests through the UO Service Portal, please select from the following links. Click the Request Help button on the right to submit a ticket.

Limits to our support: SOJC IT is not able to provide extensive support for personal (non-SOJC-owned) computers or software. Our staff and student employees are happy to troubleshoot problems with a program, but we cannot accommodate tutorial requests. We can diagnose and potentially fix issues with external hard drives not reading correctly, but SOJC IT is not equipped to perform data recovery for failing external hard drives.

Allen 113 Audio-Video Equipment Cage Information

We offer a variety of digital tools for short term checkout to all SOJC students, staff and faculty for use in producing their journalism projects. This collection of professional equipment is not only in high demand (averaging over 2000 transactions each term) but also vital to the SOJC and student success.

Below are the general types of equipment we make available:
