Overview

The access listed on this page applies to students, employees, and others with university appointments.  If you are not affiliated with the university as one of these, please see Guest Access to UO Technology.

Access is granted based on your primary affiliation as recorded in Banner.  If you have more than one job, access is based on the job designated as primary by Human Resources. This access is automated by our Identity Management (IDM) system, except as noted. Automated access is updated once per day overnight. 

Some systems are run by individual departments and are not centrally managed. These systems may have different rules or requirements for access. Please contact the department hosting those systems for access information. 

Getting Started

The first step to getting technology access is to claim your Duck ID account.

End of access after you are no longer eligible to enroll

  • Undergraduate students: You are eligible to enroll for four terms after your last enrollment.  These time lines start after that.
  • Graduate students: These time lines start at the end of your last term/semester.

It is your responsibility to save any information you need out of these systems before you lose access.

Alumni

For purposes of technology access, alumni is defined as UO students who have been awarded a degree in Fall 2017 or later. Prior year graduates are not eligible for access.

Service delays after claiming your Duck ID

Some services have a brief delay after you claim your Duck ID:  

  • Adobe: up to two hours
  • Canvas: Access is updated at 7:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. daily
  • Computer Labs including the Virtual Lab: Overnight
  • Library: Overnight
  • UOmail (email) & Office 365: Up to one hour
  • Various department services: times will vary
