Getting Started with 1Password for Students

Tags 1password

Overview

1Password provides a secure and user-friendly platform for managing your passwords and other sensitive information. Follow this guide to activate your account, set up trusted devices, and start using 1Password.

Student Eligibility

Students of the University of Oregon are eligible for a free 1Password individual account. This account will be free to use for four years.

Can I take my passwords with me?

Yes! After four years, you'll just need to start paying for it yourself - you can do that in the billing section of your account. If you choose not to pay going forward, you will still be able to access your account, and view your entries, but you won't be able to add new ones or use autofill in your browser.

Activate your free 1Password Individual Account

  1. Select Redeem Your 1Password Promotion and enter GOFT4D6VEF7HM as your Company Token, and your UO email address.
  2. Select Redeem 1Password Account
  3. You’ll receive an email at your UOmail account with the subject: You’ve been given the gift of 1Password.
  4. Select Get Started and complete registration.
  5. Use a personal email address when registering your account, this allows you to more easily take your 1Password account with you after you graduate!
Warning! UO staff are not able to help you if you forget your password or lose access to your two-factor.
