How can I change or reset my Duck ID password?

Your Duck ID password expires every 180 days. If you have forgotten your password or are unable to log in to your email, Canvas, or other services that use your Duck ID, there are several options for resetting your Duck ID password.
Change a password you know - your password is working or expired
Use this option to change your current password, or if it has expired but you still know the password.
- In a web browser, go to Duck ID Self-Service
- Click on Manage Your Duck ID
- Log in with your Duck ID (the first part of your UO email address) and your known password
- Choose and complete a Verification Method
- Under My Profile, click Change passwords
- Enter your New password and Confirm
- Click Change passwords
- You should see the message along the top of the screen: All your passwords were changed.
- You're done, and can logout.
If you forgot your password, or it's not working
There are several options for resetting your password:
- Use security questions
- By phone
- In person
- Submit a ticket
Reset your password using security questions
- In a web browser, go to Duck ID Self-Service
- Click on Manage Your Duck ID
- Log in with your Duck ID (the first part of your UO email address)
- Enter any text in the Password field and click Log in
- Complete your security questions and click Continue
- If you don't have security questions setup, you cannot recover your password online or by phone. You can contact us in person, or submit a ticket.
- Choose and complete a Verification Method
- Under My Profile, click Change passwords
- Enter your New password and Confirm
- Click Change passwords
- You should see the message along the top of the screen: All your passwords were changed.
- You're done, and can logout.
Reset your password by phone
Call the USS-Technology Service Desk at 541-346-HELP (541-346-4357) during phone hours, and request a password reset. You will be asked to answer security questions and provide a PIN sent to you by a method on file. If you cannot be verified by phone, you may be asked to come in person or submit a ticket to request a reset.
Reset your password in person
Visit one of our physical locations with photo ID.
A photo ID can be your UO ID card, driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued ID.

Submit a ticket requesting Duck ID Password Help
If you are unable to reset your password using the above methods, you can submit a ticket to request Duck ID Password Help. Staff will use this ticket to remotely verify your identity, so you will need to answer demographic questions and/or submit an ID selfie.
Be prepared
