Setting Up UOmail: Android Mail Application

Overview

Learn how to configure UOmail to the Gmail or Android Mail app.

Depending on which version of the Gmail or Android Mail app you are using, instructions may vary slightly. Our guide follows the most recent version of the Gmail and Android Mail application(s). As a result, updating your app before proceeding may make our process easier to follow.

Process

Configuration

  1. Open the Gmail or Android Mail app.
  2. If you already have an account set up, tap your profile picture in the top right corner. Otherwise, select Add Account and skip to step four.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Select Exchange and Office 365. A new window will appear.
    • Users using the Android Mail application may see separate options for Exchange or Office 365. Please select the Office 365 option if they are separate. 
  5. Enter your full UO email address and tap Next or Sign In.
  6. Type in your Duck ID password and tap Next. 
  7. Choose an account name and tap Done. By default, it will be your email address.
Please Note: By default, emails are only synced from up to one week ago. If you want to sync emails from further back, please follow the "Updating Sync Settings" instructions below.

Updating Sync Settings

  1. Open the Settings app.  
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Select your UO email account.
  4. Tap Account settings.
  5. Select your UO email account from the sidebar.
  6. Tap Sync emails from:
  7. Select how far back you'd like to sync emails.

Updating the Password

  1. Open the Settings app.  
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Select your UO email account.
  4. Tap Account settings.
  5. Select your UO email account from the sidebar.
  6. Tap Incoming settings
  7. In the Password field, delete the existing password and enter in your new one.
  8. Tap Done.
