Setting Up Email: Outlook for Android

Webmail

  1. Download and install the Outlook app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open the Outlook app.
  3.  If this is your first time using the application, tap Get Started and skip to step five. Otherwise, click on the Menu button, which is the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner.
  4. Tap the Envelope button underneath your current email account(s).
  5. Enter your full email address, then tap Continue.
  6. Tap Setup Account Manually underneath the email address bar.
  7. Under Advanced, tap IMAP.
  8. Under Email Address, enter your full UO email address. If the address is already there, move on to the next step.
  9. Under Password, enter the password for your @uoregon.edu email account. This is the same as your Duck ID password.
  10. Under Display Name, enter the name you wish people to see when you send an email. Typically, users enter their first and last names.
  11. Optional: Under Description, enter a description for the account (for example, "University email").
  12. Tap Sign In.
  13. A window will pop up informing you that your account was added successfully. You can also send yourself a test message to verify your account is working.

 

Updating Your Password

Note: if you are trying to change the Duck ID password you use with your email, you will need to visit the Duck ID Self-Service Portal at duckid.uoregon.edu and click the Forgotten Password link. Otherwise, you would follow these steps to update the password stored in your Outlook app:

  1. Open the Outlook application.
  2. A window will pop up prompting you to log in with the new password. If a window does not pop up, close the application and restart it. 

Exchange and UOmail

  1. Download and install the Outlook app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open the Outlook app.
  3. Tap Get Started if this is your first time and skip to step five. Otherwise, click on the Menu button, which is the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner.
  4. Tap the Envelope button underneath your current email accounts.
  5. Enter your full email address, then tap Continue.
  6. A Microsoft window will pop up prompting you to to enter your password. Type in the password for your email account. This is the same password you use with your Duck ID.
  7. Tap Sign In.
  8. A window will pop up informing you that your account was added successfully. You can also send yourself a test message to verify your account is working.
