Overview
This article is designed to guide university-affiliated persons through the process of configuring UOmail account with the Mail application for macOS.
If you aren't sure which email system you are on, please see All About Email at UO.
Process
Please note that users with large mailboxes may experience extremely long sync times or fail to sync any new messages. If you are experiencing excessive loading issues with Mac Mail, it is recommended to check your email using an alternative method — such as through a web browser or the Outlook for Mac.
Modern Authentication is only supported on macOS 10.14 or later. If you are on an older version of macOS, Mac Mail may not be available to use with your account. Please consider using
Outlook for Mac for an alternative desktop application. When setting up a new Exchange/UOMail account on macOS 10.14, make sure you are connected to the UO VPN.
