How can I prevent incoming Microsoft Teams calls from disturbing me?

You can use the following methods to prevent incoming calls from disturbing you. This may be helpful before meetings and classes or at the end of your workday.
Call Forwarding
- Navigate to the Calls icon in Teams. In the lower-left corner, below the dial pad, you will find the quick settings menu.
- By default, the second setting should be set to Don't forward. Click this setting to quickly adjust call forwarding settings.
- It is recommended to adjust this setting to Forward to voicemail when your office hours are closed.
Note: The selected setting will remain in place until the next time you change it.
Set Online Status to Do Not Disturb
Setting your status to Do not disturb will automatically forward your calls according to the call answering rules you have established for unanswered calls. Additionally, your online status can be set to expire after a set time period.
Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner of the Teams application, which will be located by your profile picture or initials if you do not have a profile picture set. Click your current status to adjust and then click Duration.
Set the status to Do not disturb and select the appropriate time to Reset status after.
A custom setting can be applied to choose the date and time to reset your status to sync with your calendar. Click Done to save.
Receiving a call while on a call (also called Busy on Busy)
Select Teams classic or Microsoft Teams (work or school) depending on your Teams version.
When you're in a call and you receive another call, you may choose how you would like to be notified. This setting is also referred to as Busy on Busy.
- Go into the three-dot more options menu
- Select Settings
- Select Calls
- Scroll down to find When you're in a call and receive another call.
- Select the desired option from the drop-down menu:
- Play a busy signal
- Let new calls ring me (default)
- Redirect as if the call is unanswered (recommended)
If you redirect the call as if the call is unanswered, you may need to adjust a couple of other settings to your preferences:
- Scroll up to find If unanswered
- Select the desired option from the drop-down menu:
- Voicemail (recommended)
- New number or contact (recommended for delegated numbers)
- Do nothing
- Call group
- A previously saved number

- Scroll up to find When you can't answer a call
- Select the desired option from the drop-down menu:
- Do not redirect calls
- Redirect to voicemail (recommended for individual numbers)
- Redirect to a new number or contact (recommended for delegated numbers)
