Getting Help with Canvas

To access help with Canvas, use the Help button located at the bottom of the Green, Global Navigation Menu in Canvas. Canvas Global navigation menu with Help button outlined in red

On the window that pops up there are links to the following help items:

  • Search the Canvas Guides -- the Canvas Guides are fully searchable guides that are provided by Instructure, Inc. (note that some features covered in the guides are licensed by UO or may function differently in the UO instance of Canvas)
  • Ask UO Canvas Support -- request help with Canvas.

Canvas LTI Integrations and Non-CRN Requests

Canvas LTI Integrations and non-CRN requests fall outside of Canvas service support. To add an LTI integration or non-CRN course to Canvas, please submit the request to our project queue by completing the form at https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/439f41414d5d4f6c93ea3cd36f074903. After your submission is received, the Canvas Admin Team will schedule a Discovery meeting with you to better understand the pedagogical rationale and your needs. The Service Advisory Board for Learning Technologies is responsible for reviewing and providing a recommendation for non-standard services, and you will be notified of the Board's recommendation and next steps after their review.

Assistance in Person For Instructors (Currently via Zoom)

UO Online and Canvas Support can answer Canvas questions and provide training for faculty and staff. Instructors can call 346-1942 for an appointment or get an answer to a question, or to schedule a Zoom session.

We offer Canvas workshops for instructors throughout the year. See our current workshop offerings here, or contact us to schedule a workshop for instructors in your department, customized to your specific needs.

Instructors can also report problems or get responses to specific questions by going to Canvas Support Services.  These requests are monitored regularly during normal business hours, and you can expect a response usually within one business day.
