Question
How do I connect to UO Secure on my macOS devices?
Solution
To connect to UO Secure manually:
Connect by selecting the
Wi-Fi
icon and choosing
UO WiFi Setup.
This should automatically open a window in your default web browser (Note: If a new window does not open, navigate to
https://cloud.securew2.com/public/49980/UO_Secure/
)
Click on the
Join Now
button, which will download an installer.
Run
the installer. If you cannot find the installer download in your browser, it should also be in your Downloads folder.
Enter your Duck ID (first part of your @uoregon.edu email address) and Duck ID password, then hit
Next
. Once the program completes, you should be authenticated for UO Secure.
On newer versions of macOS, you will be prompted to
install a profile
in your device settings. To do so, you can either click the notification prompt that appears, or go to settings and search for
profiles
. Click on the
University of Oregon
profile, then click
install
. You may be prompted to enter your computer password or use biometric authentication (such as a fingerprint or Face ID), and then you will be prompted to enter your Duck ID username and password.
Once the first profile has been installed successfully, go back to the
SecureW2
window and click
Next
. You will then be prompted to install a second profile; repeat the above steps to finish installing it, then go back to the
SecureW2
window and click
Next
again.
The program should then automatically connect you to UO Secure. If you are not automatically connected, select the
Wi-Fi
icon once more and choose
UO Secure.
If you are prompted to enter a username and password, enter your Duck ID and Duck ID password. You should now be on the UO Secure network.
