AI Service Offerings

Overview

This article provides a list of common AI services with links to their policy and terms of use information that is classified by UO-supported then other commonly-used, non-supported services.

Warning! The ISO recommends that you input only low risk, or green data, into AI tools at this time.

UO-supported services

Adobe Firefly

  • For generating images, video, templates, vector graphics, text effects, and image re-coloring with generative AI tools.
  • Available online through the Firefly website and throughout the Adobe Creative Suite provided through Duck ID authentication.
  • Authenticated users are allowed 1,000 monthly generation credits in accordance with Adobe's site-license agreement with UO.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat

  • Web-based chat application found at copilot.cloud.microsoft
  • Available to all UO faculty, staff, and students with data protection provided through Duck ID authentication.
  • Allows users to prompt Copilot to generate responses and images.

Microsoft 365 Copilot (in-app)

  • Available to all UO faculty and staff through a paid subscription.
  • As of October 18, 2024, each subscription costs $408.58 per person, per year.
    • The fee is prorated based upon when the license is purchased as the licenses are annual starting January 1 continuing through to December 31.
    • Available for purchase through the use of a department index.
  • Copilot for M365 adds Copilot to the Microsoft Office Productivity Apps, Microsoft Teams, and the Copilot for Work tab on the Copilot website.

Other AI services

Note: The University of Oregon does not have contracts with popular AI tools that verify they meet the university’s security, academic, operational, business, or research standards. In addition, these tools’ privacy policies generally state that any information you enter may remain within the AI system. For this reason, users should use caution and avoid sharing sensitive information, including intellectual property, copyrighted materials, or trade secrets.
