Blocking a contact in Microsoft Teams

Question

How do I block a contact in Microsoft Teams?

Note: You can only block external contacts. Any contacts internal to the university cannot be blocked.  Calls to Teams calling queues can't be blocked.

Solution

Desktop or web application

Go into your Calls tab, then go to the History section and find the caller you wish to block.

Select the More Options menu (three-dots) icon and select Block. The contact will be then blocked from attempting to contact you by any method, including calls.

Please Note: You can repeat this step to unblock the caller, or you can do so from the Edit blocked contacts option within the Teams Privacy settings.

Calls > Contact / Phone Number you wish to block > More Options > select Block

Mobile application

Go to the Calls tab, then select History. Once there, select the  icon, then select Block contact from the list of options.
