Overview
Interactive videos allow you to add interactive elements to any video you can upload. This is a simple and effective way to further engage your students in your content and improve comprehension. They are easy to create, edit, and use. More than 15 interaction types are available. They are easy to add and designed to help enhance comprehension, attention, and thereby retention of information. Some examples include:
- In-video quiz questions for comprehension checks.
- On-screen links, notes or annotations.
- End-of-video summary statement quizzes as well as a free text tool for those who want students to write their own summary

How do I create an interactive video in ANVILL in Canvas?
- Create or open the ANVILL lesson in which you want to add an Interactive Video.
- Click on + Add Content at the top of the page.
- Click on the Interactive Video icon in the content menu.
- Type a title for your interactive video.
- Click on the icon to add your video. You can upload a file, embed a URL, or record a video using ANVILL's internal recorder. Note: it may take your video or audio a moment to upload. When it does, a black icon appears where the gray box was.
- Once the video is added, click Create, which will save your new work and take you back to the main ANVILL lesson.
- Once you are back in the main ANVILL lesson screen, click on the green pencil icon in the circle to open the edit screen of your interactive video and begin adding interactions.
- Once back in the editor screen of your Interactive Video, click on the Step 2: Add Interactions tab. Use the toolbar above your video to begin adding interactions. Click on the How to add interactions to an interactive video in ANVILL in Canvas article for additional steps.
