This article explains to students what a Voiceboard (VB) is, how they work, and how to create one.
VBs are interactive online speech-based discussions. Your instructor uses VBs to better prepare you for what you’ll be asked to do in-class (and real life): demonstrate your understanding of authentic language and respond to it accurately and appropriately. VBs aim to help you actually converse in your target language wherever you are.
VBs are as interactive as they are straightforward. Your instructor publishes a VB post online. You (the students) react to the instructor VB post by leaving VB messages. This usually involves you recording yourself speaking. Thankfully we have instructions for how to easily record your audio or video message within VB. Most likely, you will also be asked to comment on your classmate's VB messages to engage your language skills even more meaningfully.
