Data Center Access Policy
Access rules:
A limited number of staff members have been granted access to data center resources. All individuals with access shall complete a data center safety training for each facility prior to accessing that facility.

Access is logged and audited monthly by data center operations staff. Access to some facilities may be monitored via closed circuit television. Keycards may not be shared between individuals.

Vendors onsite for repairs or installations must be accompanied at all times by a personnel member with authorized data center access.

Providing false information during the authorization process may result in immediate revocation of access. Access violations may also lead to criminal and civil liability.

Security and confidentiality are matters of concern to all University employees and to all other persons who have access to information technology equipment hosting sensitive, confidential or privileged documents or information. The purpose of this policy is to clarify responsibilities in University data centers. Each individual who has access to confidential or privileged information is expected to adhere to facility specific access policies which will be provided during an orientation process.
