Overview
In UO's SharePoint Online environment, you will have the ability to create two different types of SharePoint Online sites:
- Team Sites
- Communications Sites
Below are highlighted differences between each type.
Information
What is a SharePoint Online Team Site?
Team sites are sites you can create to collaborate on content, share information, and integrate with apps within the Office 365 Suite. For example, you can use a team site to store and collaborate on files or post news and status updates. Team Sites can be connected to Microsoft Teams teams, and come with a group email address. For more information, see our FAQ and Team Sites.
What is a SharePoint Online Communications Site?
A SharePoint communication site is a great place to share information with others. You can share news, reports, statuses, and other information in a visually compelling format. Communication sites can't be connected to Microsoft Teams teams, and they don't have an associated email address. For more information, see Communications Sites.
