Surplus and Disposal of Electronic Equipment

Overview

Learn how to properly designate electronic equipment for surplus and disposal.

Process

If a piece of electronic equipment is no longer needed by your department but is still in good working condition, then other departments at UO may need it. The equipment needs to be designated as surplus.

  • All working surplus property, e-waste, and furniture must be posted to the Department Surplus Listing website for one week.
  • Please refer to Surplus Property Disposal page from Business Affairs for additional information.

To view or post surplus, please navigate to UO Surplus Property website or contact your User Support Services regional unit for assistance.

All computers should be wiped of university data prior. Computers and servers that no longer effectively run a supported operating system should be transferred to the surplus property warehouse directly, and not posted to the surplus website.
