This page will help you set up your first blog when signing in for the first time.

Information

In order to set up your first blog, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the UO Blogs homepage.
  2. On the welcome page, choose UO Courses or All Other Sites:
    • For the course blog option, click UO Courses and click Agree and Continue to proceed.
    • For all other sites, click All Other Sites and then click Agree and Continue to proceed.
  3. On the following screen, click the Use My Duck ID button and log in with your Duck ID:
  4. Sign in with your Duck ID credentials.
  5. Upon login, you will be directed to the UO Blogs homepage.
  6. Go to the Create a New Site page.
  7. Give your site a site name (this cannot be changed later) and a title (which can be changed later). Select language, privacy options, and then click the Create Site button.
    • Note: Your site name has to meet the following criteria:
      • Use only lowercase letters and numbers.
      • No special characteristics, dashes, underscores, dots, or spaces can be used.
      • Must be at least four characters long.
    • Privacy settings range from private to public.
      • The more public the site is, the less likely you will be able to make it private later.
      • Tip: If you're building a site, start with a more private setting before creating the site.
    • Select your blog category.
      • Select your college/school/unit name from the Blog Category drop-down menu.
    • Note: If you want to update these settings after creating your site:
      1. On your site dashboard.
      2. Hover over Settings and select General.
      3. Scroll down to the desired option(s) you wish to change.
      4. Click Save Changes.
