Who ResNet Serves

ResNet provides technology support to residents living in University Housing at UO.

This includes:

  • All UO Eugene campus residence halls
  • Graduate Village
  • Agate Apartments
  • Spencer View Apartments
  • Residents living in UO-Portland housing

Residential students at the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB) and non-residents should contact the Technology Service Desk.

Services Provided

  • Assistance with virus and spyware removal
  • Assistance with device registration for game consoles, smart TVs, and smart home or IoT (Internet of Things) devices
  • Assistance in solving problems regarding the UO network including outages, connectivity problems, etc.
  • Removing peer to peer programs for file sharing violations
  • Registering, configuring, and securing most wireless and wired devices
  • Assistance connecting wireless devices to the UO networks

Services Not Provided

  • Assistance with operating system errors or problems
  • Setup, installation, problems with printers or other such peripheral devices
  • Assistance to students not living in UO housing and non-housing faculty or staff (contact Information Services)
  • Hardware repair
  • House calls (unless prearranged with the university under the American With Disabilities Act)

ResNet offers residence supplies that are available to purchase.

Adapters

  • USB-A to Ethernet adapter: $16
  • USB-C to Ethernet adapter: $22

Ethernet Cables (Cat 5e)

  • 6 ft. (2.1m): $6
  • 20 ft. (6.1m): $8

In order to purchase equipment from the ResNet store, you must be a resident of the University Housing with a valid ID card. All charges will be applied to your student account. All equipment has a 30-day return policy unless otherwise stated.
