Getting Started with ANVILL in Canvas

Overview

This article will go over how to get started using ANVILL in Canvas by creating a new lesson in a course's modules page.

Integrating ANVILL into Canvas

For UO instructors, ANVILL is integrated into Canvas as an external tool. You choose this option when you're creating a module or an assignment.

1. Click on Home or Modules in the left navigation menu.
   • Create a new module if you don't already have a module you would like to place the lesson in.
2.  Click the + button in the module.
   
3. Select External Tool from the dropdown.
   
4. Click on ANVILL: Select a Lesson in the list of external tool providers.
   
5. Select an existing ANVILL lesson and click the SELECT button or create a new lesson.
   
6. There should now be a link inserted into the URL field. You can now click Add Item to finish adding the lesson.
7. Your lesson should now be listed in the module. Click the lesson to edit it in ANVILL.
