Installing the DuckDocs (OnBase) Virtual Print Driver for the Unity Client
Overview
Learn how to install the virtual printer driver for the DuckDocs (OnBase) Unity client.
Installation

https://software.uoregon.edu/software-center
. (You may be prompted to login with your DuckID)
Click the link for the
OnBase Unity Client
, then

to download Virtual Print Driver.zip.
Locate the downloaded file on your computer, right-click and choose

Navigate to the appropriate folder, depending on your computer (for most, this will be
vpd64
).
Double-click

, then

to install with all the defaults.
Printing to TIF and Importing into OnBase
Open the Unity Client and sign in.
When you print a file, you should see
Hyland Software Virtual Print Driver
as a printer option.
After clicking Print, a TIF version of the document you print will appear in
C:/OnBase Printer Spool
folder
and, if you are logged in to the Unity Client, the document will then appear in a new window allowing
you to import the document into OnBase.
Choose an appropriate Document Type and click
Import
.
Verifying Installation / Troubleshooting
If the virtual print driver and Unity Client are installed but virtual printing is not working, you may want to verify that the prerequisite software needed to run the VPD is installed. (For example, the user attempts to print something using the virtual print driver but the Import window doesn't appear).
Verify that the VPD prereqs are installed on the user's workstation. Those prereqs can be found here:
