Issue
License checkout issues with Autodesk products that are installed on College of Design machines. This occurs even though the machines is connected to the UO network via VPN or on campus. License checkout will not work without a connection to UO campus network.
Cause
Certain versions of Autodesk will timeout before being able to successfully checkout a license. This is caused by heavy network congestion.
Resolution
In order to fix this, it is possible to change the timeout for Autodesk licensing with an environment variable. Create an environment variable by doing the following:
- In Search, search for and then select: System (Control Panel)
- Click the Advanced system settings link.
- Click Environment Variables. In the section System Variables, create the FLEXLM_TIMEOUT environment variable and set the value to 10000000.
