How can you manage a distribution list (DL) in Outlook?
Solution
If you are the DL manager, you can add or remove members from an DL right from your address book in Outlook.
- If you need to be added as a DL manager, please submit a ticket through the Email Lists Request service page.
To edit your DL in Outlook, do the following:
- Open Outlook and click the Address Book. The Address Book will open in a new window.
- In the search, type in the name of the list you want to modify
- Then double-click on your list to open the membership list
- If your name is listed under the section that says Owner: you will be able to modify the membership list, by clicking the Modify Members button.
- Click the Add or Remove buttons to add or remove new members.
- Then select OK on the Add/Remove screen.
- Then select OK on the DL info screen.
For macOS users
- Select the People button on the side navigation bar.
- Hover your cursor over the New Contact button, then select New Contact List.
- Type the name of your new contact list.
- Under Add members, type the email address for your contact, then select Add. You can add multiple email addresses to your list.
- When you are finished adding contacts to your list, select Save. You can remove contacts from the list at any time by selecting the Remove from list button, then Save to keep your changes.
