Overview
You may find it difficult to get files from your home computer to the computer lab, or vice versa. You can use existing web tools like OneDrive or Dropbox to share content, or you can use the built-in tool. This article describes that tool.
Process
After logging into the system, you can see on the left hand side of your screen, in the middle, is a tab:
Click on the tab and you will see a set of controls for your virtual computer lab session. Select the file transfer icon on the top middle. Your browser may need to allow access to your system's clipboard (which allows for file transfer and copy and paste).
When you click on it, a file transfer panel will open on the right of your screen.
Download your files
- Select the files from the vritual lab machine
- Select Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘-C (macOS) to begin the file transfer
- After transferring, click the download icon to save the files to your physical machine
Upload your files
- You can either drag-and-drop your file into the window, or,
- Select the Choose Files button to select the file(s) you wish to upload.
- The uploaded files will be saved to the virtual lab machine's Documents folder.
- Select the File Explorer icon from the dock as indicated by a folder icon.
- Double-click the Documents folder icon from the next screen.
