Getting Started with Microsoft 365

Overview

Microsoft Office 365 provides the following Microsoft Office applications:

  • UOmail (also known as Outlook, or Exchange Online)
  • Word
  • Excel
  • PowerPoint
  • OneNote
  • ...and more (depending on operating system)

Learn how to activate Office Online, install the Office applications and/or OneDrive, and where to find more information.

Activating Office Online

Before you can use Office Online applications, you first need to activate and claim your Office Online account.

Once you activate Office Online, you can use the online versions of the Office applications in your web browser.

Installing Microsoft Office Applications

You can use the Office 365 portal to install Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. on to your computer or mobile device.

Each user can install the Office applications on:

  • Five laptops/desktop computers plus
  • Five tablets plus
  • Five phones

Installing OneDrive

Included in Office 365, Microsoft OneDrive provides up to 1 TB of cloud storage for university students and employees. Access, edit, and back up your files from Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and virtually any modern web browser.

OneDrive can be accessed in a web browser by visiting the Office 365 portal at office.uoregon.edu.

OneDrive software can also be installed onto your computer allowing you to access your files stored in OneDrive directly from your computer's desktop.
