Overview
This article will guide users through the process of scanning documents into the DuckDocs (OnBase) database using the Unity client.
Prerequisites
- Access to the OnBase Unity client which includes set up of a configured scanner.
Process
Open the OnBase Unity Client and select Import.
On the next screen, you can select either the Browse or Acquire methods to bring files into OnBase.
- If Browse is selected, users can submit a file that is within their computer’s file system and any connected network drives
- Alternatively, users can, drag and drop a document from their computer’s file system into the Preview section of the screen.
- If Acquire is selected, you will be able to scan your documents, using a scanner or a connected webcam, directly into OnBase.
Once a file has entered into OnBase, it will need to be assigned to a few menus and keywords before the Import button is available.
Select the appropriate Document Type Group and Document Type then enter any information in the Keywords section in order to Import into OnBase.
Keyword values will be used to retrieve the document in a search. Fields labeled with red text are required keywords; the document cannot be indexed without these values.
If the file is not oriented correctly, the Rotate Left and Rotate Right buttons are available to do so.
Once Import has been selected, the file is now ready for indexing and storage.
