This page explains how to uninstall your current version of Java and then install an older version. Users of Banner and AppWorx job scheduling may need to revert to an older version of Java if they've installed a new version that's incompatible with those services. Please note these instructions focus on Java 8.
Select Programs and Features
In the list of programs, select the undesired version of Java, then click Uninstall. (If you have multiple versions of Java installed, you may want to uninstall all of them.)
Go to Oracle's Java SE 8 Archive Downloads page and locate the desired version of Java.
Example: If you want to install Java 8 Update 60, find the box labeled Java SE Runtime Environment 8u60.
If you have questions about which version of Java to install, please contact the Technology Service Desk.
Then, in the Product list, locate the option(s) labeled Windows x86 or Windows x64, then select the .exe file option.
Example: For Java 8 Update 60, select the jre-8u60-windows-i586.exe file.
After clicking the download link, you will be prompted to sign in with an Oracle Account. If you do not already have an Oracle account follow the instructions below, otherwise continue to step 4.
Create an account by clicking the Create Account button option.
