UO Digital Content Accessibility Training

Overview

This training is for anyone who creates or edits digital content. Digital content includes Word documents, PDFs, videos, flyers, emails, electronic textbooks, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, charts, Canvas courses, and most other types of documents and media accessed via computers or mobile devices. The training will help you understand how people with disabilities are impacted by digital accessibility and will explain the basics of what you need to make your digital content accessible to people with disabilities.

Target groups:

  • Faculty and instructors
  • Administrative staff

Summary

This training includes two core modules, and takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete:

  1. Understanding Accessibility
  2. Accessible Design Concepts

There are also several supplementary modules with details on making the following types of content accessible, including:

  • Word
  • PowerPoint
  • PDF
  • Email
  • Canvas
  • Miscellaneous (videos/captioning, meetings, webinars, math/STEM)
