Qualtrics: Require Duck ID Login for Survey

Overview

This article describes how to require users to sign in with their Duck ID user name and password via a Shibboleth page prior to taking a survey. 

Information

1. Once you are logged into Qualtrics, open the survey you would like to add the sign in requirement to.
2. Open Survey flow on the left side menu.
3. Select + Add a New Element Here or Add Below.
4. Select Authenticator.
5. Change Authentication Type to SSO.
6. Suggested: Uncheck the Associate Respondent With Panel box.
7. For SSO Type, select Shibboleth.
   • Some options that were there before will disappear, just leaving Connection: oregon authenticator.
8. Move any existing Question Blocks to be below or after the Branch on Successful Authentication section that was just created. This will ensure users must sign in before being presented with the questions on your survey.
