PaperCut Audit Logs

Overview

Learn how to search the different types of logs in the IS-Duckprints Admin Portal.

The IS-Duckprints Admin Portal has an searchable logging service for actions that occur with PaperCut. These logs will only show interactions that happen between members of the UO community, UO PaperCut managed printers, and the PaperCut service. If you need logs to see why a certain behavior is occurring locally on a printer, please search the logs on the Web Admin Interface for the printer.  

Accessing the audit log

The Audit Log retains a complete history of administration changes to a user, unless configured otherwise. To access the audit log:

  1. Navigate to IS-Duckprints Admin Portal
  2. On left hand side, click Logs
  3. Near the top of the Logs page, click on the Audit Log tab

Log fields

  • Date - displays the date when an action occurred within PaperCut
  • Action - displays the name of the action made to the user account
    • Update - updates an attribute to a  users account or departmental account in PaperCut
    • Create - creates an attribute for a user's account or departmental account in PaperCut
    • Delete - deletes an attribute for a user's account or departmental account in PaperCut
  • By - displays the one of the three Information types
    • System - displays that an action was performed internally by PaperCut
  • Type - displays the type of account that was edited User/Departmental account
  • Name - displays the name of the user or departmental account the action was run on
  • Attribute - displays what changed on the user or departmental account
  • Attribute Description - displays the description of the attribute that was changed (if there is one) on the user or departmental account
  • From - displays the original setting to the user or departmental account
  • To - displays the change made to the user or departmental account

Searching the Audit Log

To search the Audit Log:

  1. Click on the filter button above the search results
  2. Enter in the fields you would like to search with
  3. Click Apply

Results are displayed
