PaperCut Application Log

Overview

Learn how to search the different types of logs in the IS-Duckprints Admin Portal.

The IS-Duckprints Admin Portal has an searchable logging service for actions that occur with PaperCut. These logs will only show interactions that happen between members of the UO community, UO PaperCut managed printers, and the PaperCut service. If you need logs to see why a certain behavior is occurring locally on a printer, please search the logs on the Web Admin Interface for the printer.  

Accessing the application log

  1. Navigate to IS-Duckprints Admin Portal
  2. On left hand side, click Logs
  3. Near the top of the Logs page, click on the Application Log tab

Log fields

When looking at the Applications Log, you will see the following fields:

  • Date - displays the date when an action occurred within PaperCut
  • Server - displays the name of the printer/device that was logged into
  • Information - displays the one of the three Information types
    • Information - displays basic information about the action
    • Warning - displays specific warning for action
    • Error - displays an error message from an action

Searching the Application Log

To search the Job Log:

  1. Click on the filter button above the search results
  2. Enter in the fields you would like to search with
  3. Click Apply
