CAS Profile plugin

Purpose

CAS Profile is a plugin for CAS department sites hosted on UO Blogs and Drupal. It is an extension of the existing CAS Admin page that categorizes profile information for CAS faculty, staff, and GEs within a CAS Department site.

Each profile allows for a profile image, first name, last name, position/job title, office, phone number, and e-mail to be populated in the CAS Profile database which then syncs with the corresponding department website.

How to enable Profiles for your site

CAS Profile first needs to be enabled on your site. You must contact the Information Services Tech Desk via the Web Development and Hosting request form.

Once enabled, training can be provided to you to guide you through the process of creating and editing profile records.

Using the CAS Profile database

The CAS Profile database allows department managers to build a profile for each employee within their department. Once the profile is created, it is then sent to the designated department website(s) for categorization there.

Adding a profile

  1. Sign-in to the CAS Profile database website
  2. Scroll down to the Office Manager links that appear on the left-hand side and select Add user.
  3. This will direct you to the CASIT Find People Add user tab. Enter the Duck ID of the person you wish to add. Once it loads, select the Duck ID that appears below the field.
    1. If the profile already exists, a warning message will appear above the field with a link to the profile. Select the profile link to view it.
    2. If the profile does not exist, you will be directed to fill out the remaining information
  4. Fill in the remaining required information in the starred fields. If you miss one, the system will tell you where.
    1. Note: You must enter the Password field even though it will use your Duck ID password.
  5. Once everything is updated, press Save to save all changes.
Note: More in-depth instructions can be found on the CAS Profile database website.

Categorization in Drupal sites
