Personalizing Copilot

Microsoft Copilot includes several options that can help tailor your experience and make it more useful for your work. This guide walks through personalization settings, model options, Prompt Lab, Microsoft 365 applications, and Copilot Notebooks. 

To access Settings in Copilot, click the three dots in the upper-right corner.

Select Personalization, then under Custom instructions, select Edit instructions.

Toggle the Saved memories switch on so Copilot remembers your preferences.

Choosing how Copilot responds

Use the response selector drop-down menu, indicated by Auto in the upper left corner, to let Copilot choose automatically, provide a quick response, or think more deeply. Additional model options may also be available.

Prompt Lab

For more ideas, open Prompt Lab (formerly Prompt Gallery) by selecting the three dots below the prompt field.

Prompt Lab allows you to view prompt examples based upon different themes, agent prompt types, and job types.

Accessing other Microsoft 365 applications featuring Copilot Notebooks

Access other Microsoft 365 applications like Copilot Notebooks by clicking on the nine-dot Apps and more icon in the left sidebar.

Select Notebooks.

Copilot Notebooks let you bring together a selected collection of content so Copilot can focus its responses on the information most relevant to your work.
