Overview

This article will provide you with information on managing your Dropbox access.

Different groups have different processes to follow:

Faculty, officers of administration, staff, and graduate employees

No action is required to gain access. As of late February 2026, this group automatically receives a Dropbox account on the date they become eligible.

Students and student employees

Beginning in November 2025, Dropbox is only available to students and student employees on an exception basis.

A faculty or staff sponsor must submit a request describing the academic or research need for your access at Dropbox Account Request

If you're not sure if this applies to you, check with your professor or supervisor.

Other community members

Beginning in November 2025, Dropbox is only available on an exception basis for the following affiliations:

  • Campus associates
  • Courtesy faculty appointees
  • Emerit
  • Temporary employees
