Overview

Dropbox is a cloud-based file storage service that allows you to sync files from your computer or mobile device and easily share files with other people.

This page will help you get started using UO's Dropbox service:

Requesting Access to Dropbox

Dropbox can be requested through the Duck ID Account Management portal.

For more information, please refer to the Requesting Access to Dropbox article.

Downloading Dropbox

If you'd like to install the Dropbox app on your computer or mobile device so you can sync files to the cloud, see Installing the Dropbox Application.

Signing in to Dropbox

  1. Visit Dropbox.com in a web browser or launch Dropbox on your computer. For your first login, we recommend using Dropbox.com.
  2. Enter your @uoregon.edu email address as your username and you will see Single Sign-On enabled. Click Continue, and you should be directed to a UO Shibboleth single sign-on log-in page.
  3. Log in with your Duck ID and password.
  4. You should now be logged in to the UO Dropbox service.
Note: The first time you log in, you will also be prompted to enable or disable Smart Sync. This feature allows files on your computer to be available as either online-only, local, or in mixed-state folders. Learn more in the Smart Sync quick start guide from Duke University or at How to use Dropbox Smart Sync on the Dropbox support website.
