Question

How do I switch from a Zoom call to answer an incoming call in Teams then go back?

Solution

You will need to select the Leave Computer Audio option in the Zoom call, switch to Teams and accept or ignore the incoming call, then reconnect computer audio in Zoom. Alternatively, you can adjust the notifications settings in Teams or Outlook Calendar to ensure that you are not interrupted.

Select Leave Computer Audio in Zoom

In your Zoom call, select the arrow icon next to the Audio button and select Leave Computer Audio. This will ensure that your audio will not carryover into your Zoom call while you're away.

Select Leave Computer Audio

Switch to your incoming Teams call

Switch over to Microsoft Teams and answer the call.

When you answer the call and you may need to adjust your audio settings, select the More button, select Settings, then Device Settings then choose your desired options.

Device Settings screen in Teams with Audio Settings highlighted.

Switching back to your Zoom call

When you have completed your Teams call, go back to your Zoom call and select the Join Audio button. Your computer audio will rejoin the Zoom call.
