Question

What is my Dropbox quota? Is there a file size limit when uploading files to Dropbox?

Answer

Dropbox storage quota

Effective March 26, 2024, UO faculty, staff, and students have a 100 GB storage quota. However, Information Services is extending a temporary grace period to all UO Dropbox users, as announced in Around the O. That means even people who exceed 100 GB of storage can continue to open, edit, sync and add files to Dropbox. (A date for quota enforcement hasn’t yet been set.)

How can I check my Dropbox storage usage?

Beginning March 26, 2024, Dropbox users can view their personal Dropbox usage.

  1. Log in to view your Dropbox usage page.
  2. Enter your UO email address in the Email field at the bottom of the window.
  3. The message Single Sign-on enabled will appear. Select Continue with single sign-on to be redirected.
Dropbox log in screen with single sign-on message.
  4. Enter your Duck ID username and password to sign in.

You will be redirected to your Dropbox usage screen.

File Size Limit

  • All users have a 50 GB single file size limit when uploading through the dropbox.com website.
  • There is no single file size limit with the Dropbox app installed on a computer or device.
  • If using the API, the limit is 350 GB.
