Service Description

Information Services provides Microsoft Active Directory (AD) Services for all users on campus  which allows all services and resources that use Microsoft Authentication to validate users using their Duck ID credentials. The range of services within the domain includes:

  • Authentication: All campus users have an account in AD whose username and password match their Duck ID credentials. The central campus AD domain allows all services and resources that use Microsoft Authentication to validate users using the common ID.

Departments, who historically would have utilized their own AD domain to manage user and computer resources, can be provisioned an OU in the campus wide domain at no cost. Each department has administrative rights over their delegated OU, with full autonomy on all decisions. OU management occurs via standard AD methods, and is possible from anywhere on campus or via VPN.
