Jabber Instant Messaging

Service Description

Jabber was the service that UO used to provide instant messaging services. It supported person-to-person chats, group-based chats, and file transfers.  Users may have known this service as chat, IM, jabber, spark, or other names of their chat clients. Information Services retired the Jabber instant messaging service on August 1st, 2019. Microsoft Teams replaces Jabber as our enterprise service offering for instant messaging. If you are still using Jabber, we recommend beginning your transition away from this tool now. If you would like additional help with Teams, please contact your local IT support or submit a ticket through the Service Portal using the Request Help button.
