Configuring Outlook Application for iOS

Question

How do I setup the Outlook app to get my email on iOS?

Solution

Choose the directions below based on which email service you're using for your UO email:

  • Webmail (primarily students; also known as Basic Email, IMAP/POP)
  • Exchange (most faculty and staff)

Not sure which one you're using? Contact the Technology Service Desk for help figuring it out.

Webmail (IMAP/POP) users:

  1. Download and install the Outlook app from the App Store.
  2. Open the Outlook app.
  3. (Tap the gear at the bottom if you have a mail account already on Outlook).
  4. Tap Add Account.
  5. Tap Add Email Account.
  6. Under Email, enter your full @uoregon email address
  7. Choose Setup Account Manually.
  8. Tap IMAP.
  9. Under Password, enter the password for your @uoregon email account.
  10. Under Display Name, enter the name you wish people to see when you send an email (i.e. your first and last name).
  11. Optional: Under Description, enter a description for the account (for example, "Uoregon")
  12. Tap Sign In
  13. If this is your first account added in Outlook:
    1. If you would like to add another account, you may do so, otherwise you can tap Maybe Later.
    2. You'll be taken through a tour, and then brought to your inbox.
    3. That's it! Send a test message to yourself to verify that it's working.

Exchange users:

  1. Download and install the Outlook app from the App Store
  2. Open the Outlook app.
  3. (Tap the gear at the bottom if you have a mail account already on Outlook).
  4. Tap Add Account.
  5. Tap Add Email Account.
  6. Enter in your full email address and tap Sign In with Exchange.
  7. Under Email, enter your full @uoregon email address
  8. Under Password, enter the password for your @uoregon email account

  10. Tap Sign In.
  11. If this is your first account added in Outlook:

    3. That's it! Send a test message to yourself to verify that it's working.
