Accessing Archived Report Output in Cognos

Summary

When saving report output in Cognos from a previously run report, Cognos will make the most recent version available directly within Cognos. Older report output versions will be moved to an archive location to save storage space and improve performance. These archived report outputs are still available for access, but require a few more steps to retrieve them. Overview

When saving report output in Cognos from a previously run report, Cognos will make the most recent version available directly within Cognos. Older report output versions will be moved to an archive location to save storage space and improve performance. These archived report outputs are still available for access, but require a few more steps to retrieve them.

Process

To access report outputs that have been archived, follow these steps:

  1. Access the report outputs for a report by clicking the 3 dots menu to the right of the report and select "View versions"
  2. Select the "Archives" tab in the Versions menu
  3. Click the link for "View archived versions"
  4. A new tab will be opened in the browser that shows all of the archived report output. Select the desired date of the report output on the left side and then the desired output format on the right. Your report output will be presented in a new browser window/tab or downloaded to your computer depending on the format and your browser settings.
