Overview
This article will cover the steps required to recover a file or folder from a virtual machine (VM) or Physical Server using the Cohesity data protection service.
Information
- Login to Cohesity
- Navigate to IS Cohesity in your browser.
- Select ad.uoregon.edu from the Domain drop-down menu.
- Use your Duck ID credentials to log in.
- Select File(s) and/or Folder(s) for recovery.
- On the left side of the screen, select the Recoveries menu under Data Protection.
- Select the + button on the top right side of the Recoveries screen and select Files or Folders.
- Select the Browse radio button.
- Search for your server by name.
- Hover your mouse over your server in the search results and a Browse button will appear on the right-hand side. Select Browse.
- Browse to the location of the file or folder you wish to recover and select it by checking the box next to it.
- You can select multiple files and/or folders from different locations in the file system.
- Select Save.
- You should see all of the files/folders you selected on the right-hand side.
- Recover Files/Folders.
- Select Download Files
- Save the file locally on your workstation.
- If you selected a single file, you will be redirected and a new page will pop up. Your download will start and this page will close automatically when it's finished.
- If you selected multiple files you will be provided with a ZIP file containing all of your selected files and/or folders. You will be redirected back to the Recoveries page and your recovery job will show up along with a progress bar.
- Once your Recovery job completes you can Select on it and a Download Files button will be available.
- This will start the download of the ZIP file Cohesity generates for you containing your selected files/folders.
- You can now extract and copy the files/folders from your machine to the original location or wherever they need to go.
