Resolving Banner Reporting Problems


Some reports present errors when users attempt to access them within Banner 9 and this prevents the user from accessing reports necessary for their job. An example of the types of error are listed below:

  • REP-770: MSG-01000: User doesn't have a Banner session
  • REP-0770: The Before Form trigger failed.


These errors are result from a current incompatibility between Banner 9, the reporting platform used to present reports, and an Adobe Acrobat extension. It is believed that this issue will be resolved sometime in June 2022, but there is a current workaround to this problem.

To access Banner 9 reports in the recommended Chrome Incognito session:

  1. Log in to Banner using Chrome
  2. Click the three-dots icon to access the Options menu in the top-right corner of the Chrome window, then choose Settings
  3. On the Settings page, select Extensions from the options listed on the left  side of the screen.
    1. Find the Adobe Acrobat: PDF edit, convert, sign tools extension and turn off the extension.
  4. Return to Banner and execute the desired report.
  5. This should resolve the issue with the report. If it does not, please reach out to a Banner technician, or submit a ticket through the Banner Support service page.
